When something sits against your skin all day, you want to know what's in it. Not just what the brand says is in it. What's actually, independently, verifiably in it. That's what OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification gives us and gives you.

What Is OEKO-TEX Standard 100?

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is one of the world's most trusted independent textile safety certifications. It tests fabrics against a comprehensive list of harmful substances including residual chemicals, heavy metals, pesticides, and PFAS and only issues certification when results come back clean.

The key word is independent. This isn't internal testing we commission and sign off on ourselves. It's conducted by accredited third-party laboratories that test every component of the fabric: the yarn, the dye, the finish, the trim, not just the end product.

What It Means When Boody Fabrics Are OEKO-TEX Certified

Every Boody fabric that carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification has been independently verified as:

  • Free from harmful levels of toxic substances

  • Safe for prolonged, direct contact with skin

  • PFAS-free, made without per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances

  • Free from harmful residual processing chemicals

  • Tested to internationally recognised safety limits

For a brand whose products sit closest to skin, underwear, bras, babywear, this isn't optional. It's the baseline.

Which Boody Products Are OEKO-TEX Certified?

We hold OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification across our core collections, including Women's Bras, Women's Underwear, Undershorts, G-Strings, Period & Leak Proof Underwear, Socks, Women's Loungewear, Goodnight Sleep Range, Women's Clothing, Men's Underwear, Men's Clothing, Bamboo Tech Fleece Sweats and Babywear. We continue to certify additional collections as part of our ongoing commitment to transparency.

OEKO-TEX and PFAS

PFAS, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, sometimes called "forever chemicals", have been found in some period underwear and activewear where they're used to create waterproof or stain-resistant finishes. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification includes testing for PFAS, giving you verified reassurance that what you're wearing hasn't been treated with these substances.

Boody's Period & Leak Proof Underwear has additionally been independently tested by TUV Rheinland in Germany to verify zero traces of PFAS. Two layers of verification, one conclusion: no forever chemicals.

Independent Testing on Top of OEKO-TEX

In addition to OEKO-TEX certification, Boody fabrics are independently tested by SGS, a globally recognised testing organisation, to assess fabric quality, durability, chemical compliance and labelling accuracy. These independent verification processes together help ensure our garments meet recognised international standards for safety, performance and reliability.

Why This Matters to Us

We believe the first thing you put on in the morning should feel good and be good. Not just feel soft and look clean, but actually be safe, independently verified, not just claimed. OEKO-TEX certification is how we hold ourselves to that standard across every product we make.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Boody OEKO-TEX certified?

Yes. Boody holds OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification across existing product ranges, with additional ranges currently undergoing certification.

Is Boody underwear non-toxic?

Yes. Boody fabrics are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, meaning they have been independently tested and verified to be free from harmful levels of toxic substances.

Are Boody products PFAS-free?

Yes. Boody garments are made without intentionally adding PFAS. Our Period & Leak Proof Underwear range has additionally been independently tested by TUV Rheinland to verify zero traces of PFAS.

What substances does OEKO-TEX Standard 100 test for?

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tests against a comprehensive list including heavy metals, pesticides, formaldehyde, pH levels, PFAS, allergenic dyes, and other substances that may be present after manufacturing. Testing covers every component of the fabric, not just the finished product.

How is OEKO-TEX different from brands self-certifying their fabrics?

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification is conducted by independent accredited laboratories, not by the brand itself. This is what makes it meaningful. A brand saying their fabric is safe and an independent organisation verifying it are two very different things.
