PETA-Approved Vegan: Why Every Boody Product Carries It

Diverse models wearing black seamless underwear and bras, showcasing inclusive sizing, comfort and everyday essentials from Boody.

We've always believed that comfort should feel good in every sense. Not just on your skin, but in how it was made, and what it was made from. PETA-Approved Vegan certification is how we verify that our products contain no animal-derived materials across every product, every range, every season.

What Does PETA-Approved Vegan Mean?

PETA-Approved Vegan certification means a product contains no animal-derived materials, in line with PETA's established vegan standards. For clothing, that means no wool, silk, leather, down, or other animal-based fibres. No animal-derived dyes, glues, or trims either.

It's straightforward, and it's verified. Not a brand claim, a certification.

Are All Boody Products PETA-Approved Vegan?

Yes. Every Boody product across every category from underwear and bras to babywear and socks is PETA-Approved Vegan certified. This isn't something we applied to a handful of lines. It's the standard across everything we make.

What Boody Uses Instead of Animal Fibres

Our signature fabric is viscose derived from organically grown bamboo. It's entirely plant-based, and it's one of the most genuinely comfortable fabrics we've found for everyday essentials. Naturally soft. Breathable. Moisture-wicking. Temperature-regulating. Odour-resistant.

These properties come from the fibre itself, not from processing it to mimic what animal fibres do. The bamboo viscose earns its place on performance merit.

Vegan Clothing and Comfort: Not a Trade-Off

One question we hear occasionally is whether vegan fabrics compromise on comfort or performance. In our experience: no. Our bamboo viscose is consistently described by customers as one of the softest fabrics they've worn against their skin. It's the most common reason people come back and buy more.

Being PETA-Approved Vegan doesn't mean sacrificing anything. It means choosing materials that perform well and happen to cause no animal harm in the process.

Backed by Multiple Certifications

PETA-Approved Vegan certification sits alongside our other material and safety certifications. Our fabrics are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, independently tested and verified to be free from harmful substances including PFAS. Our bamboo source is ECOCERT certified organic. Our products are made without intentionally added PFAS.

Together, these certifications give a complete picture of what Boody products are made from, and how.

Why This Matters to Us

We're not a brand built around activism. But we do believe that the choices made in design and sourcing add up. Choosing plant-based fibres over animal-derived ones is one of those choices and one we're glad to be able to verify and stand behind with independent certification.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does PETA-Approved Vegan mean?

It means the product contains no animal-derived materials, in line with PETA's vegan standards. For clothing, this covers fibres, dyes, glues and trims.

Are all Boody products vegan?

Yes. Every Boody product is PETA-Approved Vegan certified.

What materials does Boody use instead of animal fibres?

We use viscose derived from organically grown bamboo as our primary fabric. It's plant-based, soft, breathable and moisture-wicking.

Is vegan clothing as comfortable as wool or silk?

In our experience, yes. Bamboo viscose is exceptionally soft against the skin, breathable, and temperature-regulating. It's one of the most frequently cited reasons our customers return for more.

Is PETA-Approved Vegan an independent certification?

PETA-Approved Vegan is a certification issued by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) based on an assessment of materials and production. It is not the same as independent third-party laboratory testing (which is what OEKO-TEX provides) but it is a recognised standard for verifying the absence of animal-derived materials.
